Fotosíntesis artificial efecto sinérgico de Ti3+, Co2+,Co3+ en los mecanismos de activación, acoplamiento C–C hacia la produccion de isopropanol

La producción de alcoholes a partir de la fotosíntesis artificial suele estar limitada por bajas eficiencias de conversión y por escasa selectividad. En el presente estudio, se empleó un fotocatalizador de 1% Co/TiO₂ con el objetivo de maximizar la producción de isopropanol mediante la reducción fotocatalítica de CO₂ en presencia de H₂O como agente donador de electrones y, bajo irradiación UV y visible. La caracterización mediante UV-Vis y XPS indicó que la alta actividad catalítica se relaciona con la formación de especies de Ti³⁺, Co²⁺ y Co³⁺. Estas especies químicas inducen una disminución del band gap de TiO₂ y favorecen la separación eficiente de pares electrón-hueco, lo que disminuye su recombinación. Asimismo, mejoran la adsorción y activación de CO2 en la superficie del fotocatalizador, promoviendo la generación de radicales formilo (•CHO), etapa clave en la ruta mecanística hacia isopropanol.
